Oluwaseun Michael Esan, professionally known as Freezyfofo or Freezybeatz, has made a significant mark in the music industry as a versatile music producer, audio engineer, and artist hailing from Lagos, Nigeria. Born on September 13, 1989, his career is characterized by a unique approach to resampling beats and creative use of bass elements. Despite facing the setback of losing data for his ambitious 25-track studio album "Recovery," recorded in 2016, Freezyfofo demonstrated resilience by releasing a series of captivating singles and EPs, including "A Jiffy to Recovery," "So Paid," "Et Amor Die," "Wahala," and the single "Fake life."
In 2022, Freezyfofo joined forces with Luckystarz for the EP "2mins2blow," strategically presented as a recovery project. Maintaining momentum in the mainstream, he collaborated with Ajesings on the melodic single "Colo Meji," showcasing his prowess in afropop production. The success of "Colo Meji" was followed by the rock-blues lo-fi love song "Sophomore," featuring Gt Da Guitarman.
In a surprising move, Freezyfofo released his debut album, 'Trick or Treat,' comprising 8 tracks, including pre-released singles and an Amapiano remix of "Sophomore." September 2023 marked a turning point as Spotify acknowledged his talent, granting him eligibility for Discovery Mode. This recognition expanded his audience and paved the way for a new EP, 'Mèjè Mèjè,' released on January 11, 2024, featuring two tracks, "Jé Iràwó (Be a star)" and "Dear Barachiel."
